Take a walk around the island, looking out for monkeys and Nyala families, and spotting over 400 bird species such as African finfoot, Pel’s fishing owl, Shalow’s turaco and many others. Spend a day fishing from shore, catching and releasing or taking your fish to the lodge’s chefs to prepare for your dinner. If you are in need of a bit more adventure, you simply need to cross the river to find yourself in one of the top wildlife reserves in Africa. The Zambezi National Park offers regular game drives that offer the chance to see big game species and other sights. Fishing charters on the Zambezi River are also offered, along with sunset river cruises, canoe excursions and many other fun activities. You can also try a day tour to the famous Victoria Falls – named Mosi-oa-Tunya or ‘the smoke that thunders’ by locals. A helicopter ride offers a truly unique way to take in the sights of the falls, Zambezi and island from above, spotting game below and seeing the falls in all of its thundering beauty.
